Jabs Signature Employer Networking Night

What is Jabs Networking Night?

Jabs Networking Night is a conversation‑first event during Career Fair week. More than 35 employers from across business disciplines come to Jabs Hall to talk with business students.

• Explore internships and early career roles in finance, accounting, management, marketing, hospitality, and related areas
• Talk directly with recruiters, hiring managers, and Jabs alumni
• Practice real networking in a setting built for focused conversations

This is not a formal career fair. It is an evening to meet people, ask questions, and start pipelines.

Who should attend?

Come if you are:

• A Jabs business major
• Looking for internships in business fields
• Still sorting out your post‑grad plan
• A business minor or student from another college curious about business‑related roles
• Interested in meeting employers in an informal setting during Career Fair week

You do not need a perfect plan or perfect resume to be in the room.

How to prepare (3 quick moves)

1. Scan the employer list

Pick 3–5 employers you are curious about. Check their sites and note:

• What they do
• Where they are based
• What they offer students or new grads

2. Write a short intro

Have a 2–3 sentence starting point you can reuse:

• “Hi, I’m [Name]. I’m a [year] in [major/minor] at Jabs. Right now I’m involved in [job, club, or project], and I’m interested in opportunities in [area of interest].”

You don't need to memorize a script, just take the edge off the first sentence.

3. Bring a few real questions

Good questions keep conversations moving:

• “What does a successful intern or new hire look like at your organization?”
• “If I am a [major], what are good entry points into your company?”
• “What helps a student stand out when they apply to your company?”
