Ceremony Information

Parents & Guest: 

Tickets are not required for guest admission to the Commencement ceremony.

To ensure fairness and accommodate all attendees, saving seats is not permitted. We appreciate your cooperation in allowing all guests to find seating as they arrive.

As a reminder, to speed the entry process through the event’s metal detectors, we request -- but don’t require -- graduates and guests leave their bags and purses in their vehicles. Please leave cell phones and keys in your pockets when going through the metal detectors. 

The following items are prohibited and will not be allowed in the venue. 

Alcoholic Beverages 
Balls (including Beach Balls) 
Bikes, Skateboards, or Scooters
Coolers 
Firearms 
Glass Bottles
Illegal Knives (4" blades or longer) 
Lawn Chairs
Outside Food 
Pets 
Umbrellas 
Signs on Sticks

Students: Spring and Fall term degree candidates must walk in the term in which they are completing their degree. Summer undergraduate level candidates are invited to walk in the Spring ceremonies.  Summer graduate level candidates are invited to walk in the Fall ceremonies.

  • Undergraduates -  Shroyer Gym
  • Masters- South Tunnel Hallway 
  • Doctoral Graduates- Taping room in the South Tunnel
  • Faculty - North Tunnel

Program Name

Please note: The deadline for Spring Undegraduates graduation applications was October 1st and Summer and Fall Undergraduates graduation applications was March 1st.Late applications are not guaranteed to appear in the commencement program. If you have applied after the deadline and do not see your name and would like your name included in the commencement program, please email graduation@montana.edu

The program for Fall 2026 will be available on October 1st.
