Happy February!

Many projects are starting to gather steam now as we are a month into shooting sports and there are reports of other projects, including robotics, sewing, cake decorating and dog occurring on a regular basis.  Remember that 4-H is all about learning by doing and we love to see you learning AND having fun! Don’t forget to send pictures of your activities to Julie at liberty@montana.edu

We encourage you to continue to represent 4-H here in Liberty County and wherever you may be.  I was pleased to see 4-H leaflets hanging from the doors of several lockers at the school when I was there last week!  Way to let your green show!

4 County Marias Fair Archery Tournament

There will not be a physical 4 county Marias Fair Archery tournament. Each county will host their own tournament. The good news is that there will be no entry fees and Archery members will have a chance for a little more practice since there was a late start. The format should be similar to the normal Marias Fair tournament with 2 practice ends and then start the 10 ends that are scored with the time limit of 2 minutes 30 seconds per end. All counties’ scores must be turned in by March 9th.   More information will be coming as we settle on a specific date for the shoot here in Liberty County.  It will most likely be in late February, or very early March.

4 County Marias Fair Air Rifle/Pistol Tournament

The Marias Fair Air Rifle/Pistol tournament will also be hosted by individual counties. There will be no fee to register for the tournament and it will also be taking place in late February to very early March.  Look for exact dates to for all shooting sports disciplines to come out in the next couple of weeks.

You will be able to use this account this summer if you participate in the Marias Fair so remember your login information. Please call the Extension office if you need assistance.

Please be sure to see the deadlines for registration.  WE WILL NEED TO HAVE ALL PAYMENTS PROCESSED BY MARCH 1ST.  IF THAT IS NOT DONE, TARGETS WILL NOT BE SCORED AND ARCHERY SCORES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.  The current rulebooks will be posted on the State 4-H Website at the following address: http://montana4h.org/programs/events/shooting-sports-event.html
