The MSU Local Government Center offers an Introduction to Parliamentary Procedure for Public Officials course. The course is completely online and can be taken any time, from any computer or mobile device with internet access. We are happy to offer this course for free to all local government officials and citizens of Montana.

Parliamentary Procedure for Public Officials covers introductory parliamentary procedure topics such as the purpose of parliamentary procedure, Montana open meeting laws, basic and commonly-used motions, and suggested resources for more in-depth parliamentary procedure information.

We estimate the course can be completed in as little as two hours. The information is segmented into six units. Participants can complete the course at thier own pace and will recieve a digital certificate of completion upon successful completion of the course.

Please note, this course is a non-credit Extension educational training.
