1. Proposal for Board of Regents: “MSU Interdisciplinary Institute on Artificial Intelligence (IIAI),” Doralyn Rossman, Will Thomas, et al.
a. Questions/Comments:
i. Still in conceptualization stage?
a. Yes, to an extent.
b. Will go to BOR in March.
c. Expectation that projects will involve multiple disciplines.
ii. How faculty might be involved in the institute?
a. Provide workshops, bring in others from outside. Engage with institute.
b. AI is by nature interdisciplinary.
iii. Where does the funding for these projects come from? What is the long-term plan for funding?
a. Baseline investments will need to be made.
b. Larger initiatives will be a collaboration with Deans and the Provost.
c. Grant proposals are in process. Grants have been received.
iv. This is highlighting something that many don’t recognize and that is that AI is inherently interdisciplinary.
a. AI itself is not interdisciplinary. It is a tool and the way you use it can be interdisciplinary.
2. Proposal for Board of Regents: JJCBE organization into departments

b. Questions
i. What does this look like administratively?
a. Will have three “department heads”
ii. Is it an even split in student numbers between the three departments?
a. Management was the biggest
b. Marketing was growing.
c. Can’t recall the numbers in accounting.
3. Parking on campus update, Randy Crandall

b. Questions/comments
i. What is the plan to handle the capacity of commuters wanting to park and go to the new Gallatin College building?
a. Possible “Gallatin Collage Pass”
b. Commuter parking
ii. Where is parking at other sites handled? Here at MSU.
c. What is the history of why people have to pay to park where they work?
i. Parking is self-funded, including paving. maintenance, snow removal, cost of parking garage, etc.
ii. State law says that parking cannot be funded by student tuition/fees.
d. Grant funding can’t be channeled to parking? Some grants cover infostructure.
i. We are sperate from that.
e. Plans to open up passes to faculty separate from students are appreciated
f. Are there plans to expand Cat Tracks to stop on the east side of the stadium and campus?
i. Don’t have a timeline now but will look at it.
ii. WTI was hired to look at potential routes.
iii. Turning left back onto Kagy takes extra time.
