A call to the MSU Community

Everyone at MSU shares a deep commitment to this university and to the great state we serve. We know there are transformative ideas across our campus and beyond—and we need them now.

What do you believe MSU should strive for?

How can we better serve our students, communities and state?

Challenge us. Help shape the future of Montana State University.

We want to hear from you! Your voice matters, and this is your opportunity to help define the vision that will guide MSU for years to come. Throughout the spring and summer, MSU will host opportunities for engagement, including:

  • Listening sessions with students, faculty, and staff
  • Surveys and digital feedback tools
  • Community conversations across Montana

Your participation will provide the ideas that will be distilled into draft materials for campus review by early fall, with the final plan published in November.

Why a new Strategic Plan?

MSU’s current plan, Choosing Promise, adopted in 2019 and updated in 2023, has been instrumental in shaping our progress and success. But MSU is always moving forward. New opportunities, new challenges, and new aspirations call us to think boldly once again.

Crafting a plan for Montana’s largest university means listening to the people who know it best—our students, faculty, staff, partners, and Montanans across the state. Your insights will guide the ambitions of the next chapter.
