Student Commons

The Student Commons is a centralized multi-purpose campus resource located on the first floor of the Strand Union Building, SUB 185. We are an integral part of the Division of Access and Success at Montana State University.

What is the Student Commons?

The Student Commons empowers students to build authentic community across differences while developing skills for advocacy and transformative change. We create a welcoming learning environment where all students can belong and thrive, find their academic voice and purpose, and build supportive relationships through everyday connection and meaningful dialogue. Through educational programs, support services, and partnerships with students, faculty, staff, and community members, the Student Commons encourages engagement, expression, critical thinking, and the exchange of ideas that strengthen the classroom experience and campus culture. Our space is open and physically accessible to all students, staff, and faculty. Stop by to relax, connect, and explore your questions, concerns, and next steps through conversation and resources.
