Elections Executive Candidate Platform
The Executive Branch of ASMSU serves as the administrative arm of student government. This page provides students with an in-depth look at each candidate team’s platform, goals, and vision for the upcoming year. We encourage all Bobcats to review these descriptions to make an informed decision during the election.
Benjamin Wilson & Josey Blazer
President & Vice President

Benjamin (Ben) is a 3rd year at Montana State University majoring in Liberal Studies Quaternity and Environmental Economics and Policy. Ben was born in Spokane, Washington, but grew up in Bozeman. In his free time, you can find him skiing, hiking, camping, and fishing. He is currently a Candidate for the Sigma Nu Fraternity and loves to play music in the MSU Symphony Orchestra and One O'Clock Jazz Ensemble. He served as a Senator for the College of Letters and Science last year and is currently an At-Large Senator. While serving on the Employee Pay Review Committee, Equipment Fee Allocation Committee, Curriculum and Programming Committee, Parking Appeals Board, a Liaisonship with the Streamline Bus Service, and being an active leader on the senate floor, he was exposed to the opportunities on campus and the impact of Bobcat voices!
Josey Blazer is a Junior majoring in Marketing and Political Science. She’s from Ennis, MT, and
has enjoyed skiing, hiking, and camping in the Bozeman area her entire life. Currently,
she’s also a member of Alpha Omicron Pi, the Women’s Rugby team, and is involved with
admissions and orientation! She’s in her 3rd year with ASMSU, and has been a Senator,
a member of the Outreach team, and the Events Marketing associate. As an experienced
club leader, one of her top priorities is to make the club funding process easier.
Hello Bobcats! We are Benjamin Wilson and Josey Blazer, and we are thrilled to represent YOU as your ASMSU President and Vice President!
The priorities of our term impact students in all corners of campus. We represent ALL majors on campus and prioritize ALL colleges on Campus.
Our first priority is to make a universal internship center for ALL STUDENTS from ALL MAJORS. We want to make at least one readily available internship opportunity for all and do so by working with university as well as the city, state, and the national organizations and employers. We will use the resources of the student government to improve the experiences of ALL students, not just those who are involved, and connect them with the opportunities of today to prepare them for the careers of tomorrow.
The bobcat way of connection building is getting out into nature. We want to increase outdoor outreach opportunities for students. We want to broaden outdoor horizons, and expand upon existing programs that lead student guided groups into the outdoors!
We support fraternity, sorority, and club engagement both on campus and into the greater community! We will fight to keep accessible funding avenues so they can reach their goals by working with University Administration and ASMSU leadership to make and keep funds accessible.
We want to expand outreach by having events or tabling to discuss student fee usage and breakdown, so students know how their fee dollars are used! If students have more knowledge of their student government, they can have more impact!
We want to invest in more events. We love and support Rail Jam and what it has done for the MSU community. We want to create a new event for the Fall Semester that increases student engagement with the fine arts on campus. We believe that the arts at MSU play a crucial role in Bobcat identity, spirit, and identity. We want to create a new event called CatStock, which offers numerous performances, activities, booths, and food, where students can hang out, meet new people, and have fun!
Regardless of a student's opinion, we want to give them the avenues to share it! 2027 is a legislative year and is a great opportunity for students to learn more about civic engagement and involvement in public discourse. We want to expand the outlets for civic engagement and opportunities for students to ask questions, whether that be through hosting a debate, inviting legislators to campus, or having student information sessions with the ASMSU lobbyist. Whatever a students’ opinion may be, we want to give them the resources for them to share it!
We believe student leadership is teamwork. We believe that it is built upon reaching out and working together with bobcats all over campus. Between the two of us, we have been exposed to many corners of campus, whether that be through classes in various fields of study, Greek-life, sports, or music. We believe that at times campus leadership has only focused on specific groups of students. We want to change that! We value and want to support ALL STUDENTS in the Bobcat community!
Izzy Watson & Molly Forney
President & Vice President

Hey Cats! My name is Izzy and I am heading into my senior year at MSU! I am an honors student studying Political Science and Philosophy with a minor in German. Despite being from Missoula, I have been a Bobcat my whole life! During my time here at Montana State, I have written for The Exponent as an Opinion Writer, I’ve been an intern for the Montana World Affairs Council, and I have worked since Freshman year as a Student Research Assistant in the MSU Library’s Archives and Special Collections. I am headed into my third year with ASMSU, and during that time, I served as the student body lobbyist, the sole ASMSU representative to the Montana Legislature in Helena, during the 2025 legislative session. I was also elected last year as a Senator for the College of Letters and Science, and last semester, I served as the ASMSU Senate Speaker Pro Tempore. I am currently the ASMSU Senate Speaker. I have been a voting member on the ASMSU Finance Board and Administrative Council, liaison to the Government Affairs program, the Chair of the ASMSU Registered Student Organization Funding Board, and I am currently the Chair of the ASMSU Senate. As a voting member on the ASMSU Senate last semester, I sponsored important legislation, and I voted to fund many exciting projects and events for MSU Students. I am so excited to continue my efforts serving students as your Student Body President!
I'm Molly! I study political science and sociology here at Montana State University. Through my time here, I've been deeply involved with the Office of Admissions, I've worked as an "advocat" and as a teaching assistant, and am a part of the honors college. In ASMSU, I've assumed multiple roles, both elected as a Senator for the College of Letters and Sciences and as the Senate Speaker Pro Tempore. I actively chair the Registered Student Organization Funding board, ensuring that student organizations, club sports, and Greek life can access financial resources without unnecessary hurdles, because student fees fund the organizations that make our campus thrive, and that process should be clear, fair, and easy to navigate. Both Izzy and I served as the Pro Tempore, overseeing the RSO funding board and application processes. We understand the ins and outs of ASMSU finances, processes, and legislation as a whole. We have hands-on experience working for our student body, serving in administrative roles, and working to continually push for the student interests at every turn. In my time as Senator, I have worked on legislation to actively improve the livelihoods and opportunities of students. I've worked closely and plan to continue to work closely with the Career Services Office to establish a permanent career closet on campus. I want to continue to foster great relationships between our student body, their representatives, and the offices that continue to support us. As your Vice President, I want to serve as a dedicated liaison between ASMSU and the broader student community. Connecting student-athletes, first-generation students, Greek life, and other groups to ensure every voice shapes the decisions that affect your campus experience. I also want to expand our internal organizations, like events and communications, to find ways to increase student engagement, support ASMSU staff, and create new opportunities. I hope to continue serving the student body and representing your interests in every way I can as your Student Body Vice President.
We want to demystify ASMSU. We know that a lack of engagement with ASMSU stems from a lack of knowledge about what we do, and how we can help you. We want to make the meetings of all of our councils, boards, and committees accessible to you by improving how and where they are announced and by making it easier for you to attend and participate. Creating a more centralized and user-friendly system for meeting information would help students stay informed about the decisions that affect them and to participate in the governing bodies that make those decisions. We also want to increase student engagement with ASMSU and accessibility of events like Rail Jam and Battle of the Bands. These events are some of the most visible things ASMSU does, and they are a lot of fun! We want to make these events bigger and better, and we want to expand the capabilities of the ASMSU Events and Communications teams in order to get the word out to students. Additionally, we want to expand student-focused community events on campus. We hope to bring back the Spirit of the West vs Griz Marching Band Battle of the Bands during the 2026 Brawl of the Wild football game. This event has historically been a bright spot of Montana unity for musicians across the state, and we think it’s an important and fun event for students before the Brawl of the Wild!
Finally, as we are entering another legislative year in 2027, we hope to bolster and maintain student representation at the city and state levels. Student voices should be heard at every level of government, from the Bozeman City Commission to the Board of Regents. We hope to maintain the pilot program for the Student Advisory Committee to the City Commission, which places a student representative on every board the city of Bozeman administers. We also hope to maintain student voting representation in the Board of Regents. Ultimately, more student representation ensures that the boards and government bodies making decisions that affect students hear directly from the students who experience student issues every day. We want to give YOU a seat at the table.
If elected, we would be the first all-female team to serve in the past several years of ASMSU history. We hope to continue dedicating our time and energy to the student body. We hope we have your vote!
