Montana 4-H Shooting Sports events provide 4-H Shooting Sports members with opportunities to participate in fun and educational competitive matches in archery, air rifle, air pistol, and small bore rifle.  The State Shoot is open to all 4-H members enrolled in these disciplines, and is also the qualifying event for teens (14+) hoping to compete at the National 4-H Tournament in air rifle, air pistol, or small bore.  Archery and other disciplines have separate qualifying matches.

Montana 4-H Shooting Sports Qualifying Events

The following events serve as the qualifier to participate in the National 4-H Shooting Sports Invitational in June.

Age Requirements - Participants must have passed their 14th birthday by January 1 of the current year and may not have passed their 19th birthday before January 1 of the current year in which the 4-H Shooting Sports National Championships are held.

2024 National Shooting Sports Events

2024 4-H Shooting Sports National Quiz Bowl

The 2024 4-H Shooting Sports National Quiz Bowl registration portal is now open. Quizzes this year are comprised of 50 new questions for Intermediate/Seniors and 25 new questions for Juniors as a mix of General 4-H, STEM, Rifle, Pistol, Shotgun, Archery, Hunting Skills, and Western Heritage - hosted on a brand new, exciting, hopefully trouble free, platform.

Quiz Bowl registration price is the same as last year, $10 for individuals and $40 for teams.

Team members are automatically scored as individuals and receive individual awards/recognition as well as awards/recognition. Upon registration you will be provided with a link to the study materials and a personal quiz link.

The quiz may be taken anytime between January 15-19, 2024. You will only have one chance to take the quiz. Quiz scores are based on the number of correct answers and the amount of time remaining in the quiz.
