Modules 4 & 5: Lesson/Unit Plan: Digital Tools
Your task this week is to add a digital tool or resource that transforms or enhances learning into your lesson/unit plan, explain why you used the tool you did, and how the tool is developmentally appropriate for your learners.
Module Objectives
- Identify and evaluate digital tools and resources
- Incorporate digital tools and resources into an existing lesson plan
Think
- Shum, A., M., H, & Zinn, F. (2020). Finding digital tools and apps. In (T. Trust, ed.) Teaching with digital tools and apps. University of Massachusetts Amherst. https://edtechbooks.org/digitaltoolsapps/findingtoolsandapps
- Explore the following websites (taken from “Finding digital tools and apps”) to locate some digital tools that might make a good resource to include in your lesson plan/unit.
Create
Choose a digital tool or resource that you would like to incorporate into your lesson/unit plan. Be prepared to discuss why you selected this tool, how the tool is developmentally appropriate for your learners, and how it enhances the lesson.
Share & Grow
In the Weeks 4 & 5 Discussion Forum, post your lesson/unit plan with the added digital tool or resources. In your introduction, explain the digital tool / resource that you incorporated into your lesson plan. Share why you selected this tool, how the tool is developmentally appropriate for your learners, and how it enhances the lesson.
Then, suggest a tool or resource for a classmate’s lesson/unit plan. Respond to their post with your suggestion, along with a rationale for why it’s a useful digital tool. NOTE: Your instructor may assign the individual that you will suggest to so that each person receives a suggestion.
