The Dean's Advisory Council creates pipelines of communication between the dean and both first-year students and the other groups consisting of student leaders, e.g., Honors Student Fellows, Honors Ambassadors, and Honors Presents. This group will assist with programming and offer the Dean a standing group to call on when feedback is needed, with the goal of building trust for direct and meaningful conversations.

The purpose of this group is threefold:

  • Create pipelines of communication between the dean and both first-year students and the other groups consisting of student leaders, e.g., Honors Student Fellows, Honors Ambassadors, and Honors Presents.
  • Create a critical mass of students (~10) interested in helping put on social programming and periodically supporting Honors College directed programming.
  • Offer the Dean a standing group to call on when feedback is needed, a group that has built up trust with each other so that we can have direct and meaningful conversations.
