All of CCR’s Support Services are available to the MSU community even if individuals do not want to file a report or start an investigation.

These services are designed to address safety concerns and support individuals in returning to work or class in a way that feels manageable and safe.

The following list is not exhaustive – and not every support is reasonable or fits every situation. To receive support – or if you’re curious about options please meet with CCR.

Options include (but not limited to):

Academic Advocacy

Case managers can provide reasonable accommodations to support survivors in navigating missed assignments, missed classes, and exams.

Knock-It-Off Conversations

Professional Staff can speak with individuals suspected of engaging inappropriately and encourage them to cease these behaviors. This is an informal option.

Mutual No Contact Orders

This is a formal administrative agreement set in place by CCR that states individuals are not allowed to interact with one another for the duration of their time at MSU. This is an official document that if violated will be processed through conduct.

Professional Contact Only Orders

This is a formal administrative agreement set in place by CCR that states individuals will only interact with each other to the capacity that is required for their jobs. If this is violated, CCR and HR are notified, and HR determines appropriate sanctions.

Safety Planning & Stalking Logs

  • Advocates can support individuals in creating a plan that best optimizes their safety in several scenarios.
  • Case Managers can also support survivors in creating a Walking Path on Campus that reduces the likelihood of running into individuals on campus. A Case Manager can pull up peoples’ schedules and offer recommendations to the survivor like “For your 11 am class in Reid, I recommend you walk in through the North doors and exit through the North doors.”
  • Due to privacy laws, Case Manages cannot provide an accused’s course schedule to a survivor, but they can do the above work to mitigate the likelihood of running into the individual.

Campus Safety Navigation

Advocates can support individuals in learning how to request safety escorts from UPD and use the Safe Cats App to optimize their sense of safety on campus.

Leave of Absence  and university withdrawal

Case Managers can support individuals leaving MSU temporarily or permanently becauseof discrimination, harassment, or sexual violence with the least amount of disruption to their transcripts.

Late Withdrawal

Ifan individual is unable to withdraw from classes because of discrimination, harassment, or sexual violence, Case Managers can supportwithdrawing from classes past the final withdrawal date.

Retroactive Withdrawal

Case Managers can support individuals impacted by discrimination, harassment, or sexual violence in withdrawing from classes even after time has passed since the semester ended.

Temporary Housing (for on campus residents)

Case Managers can coordinate with University Student Housing to find temporary living arrangements for survivors to address safety concerns.

Alternative Parking Options

Depending on the need, Case Managers can support survivors in receiving parking accommodations to address health and safety needs.

New Items for Security & Safety

Case Managers can connect individuals to financial resourcestobuyitems and materials to enhance safety (e.g.security cameras, new bedsheets, curtains, etc).
